Millwood Gold Mine Trail
Just over a century ago, Knysna experienced its very own, short lived gold rush.
Today, you may walk in the footsteps of those hard-working, determined, but disappointed people, (the excitement was over within a decade), by visiting the original mining town of Millwood. This circular walk takes one past the abandoned ruins of what was the scene of a flourishing gold mining community.Beyond the town, there are disused tunnels and shafts to explore and an interesting assortment of restored mining equipment and machinery.
