We take a slow, investigative walk through the upper reaches of an indigenous forest situated on a private nature reserve. There are some amazing trees along this route as well as views of the surrounding area. We will be checking out all aspects as we go along, looking under logs and stones, looking closely at the trees, interpreting signs the animals have left behind, etc. This is a walk designed for all ages and is a wonderful ‘starter walk’ to find out about the wildlife that surrounds us.
COST: R50 per adult, R25 per child under 12 years
BRING: Closed shoes, water, camera, binoculars, mosquito repellent, guide books if you have any.
EXTRA NOTES: An easy, simple walk, designed to be an introduction into nature but as a result of your guides knowledge and skills, will be enjoyed by all ages, no matter what your knowledge base of the area is
DIRECTIONS: From Plettenberg Bay travel North on the N2 for approximately 15 km to a turnoff on your right-hand side called Askop Road (there are also signs to Hog Hollow and Antlers). Turn in and follow this road for approximately 2.5 km and you will get to Brackenburn Private Nature Reserve. Please close the gate behind you as you enter! As you drive in, take the right-hand fork which will take you down to a white cottage and an old shed. We will meet there for the start of the walk.
