This year the festival is proud to be involved in driving 3 Coastal Clean-Up Walks.
Too often we come across too much plastic and litter on our coast. This is a chance for walkers and lovers of the outdoors to give back and to help us pick it up.
The walk is lead by Marco from the Covie Fishing Club and Hannah and Aquila from the Nature’s Valley Trust marine team. Marco will talk about the establishment of the Covie fishing club in 2017. Aquila and Hannah will share information about the research they are involved in as you walks along nature’s Valley beach. We will be done by 11am. The walk is quite short but there might be lots of rubbish to collect.
Please volunteer and get involved.
Clean-up is lead by Marco Barnardo and staff from Nature’s Valley Trust.
BRING: Bring a spirit of fun. A portion of the walk is on rocks so walking shoes will be needed, it can get a bit slippery. Rubbish bags will be supplied for collecting the trash.
A sandwich or two, sun hat, water and a good backpack to help carry back what we pick up.
DIRECTIONS: Meeting place is the Nature’s Valley Restaurant (opposite beach entrance 1) at 9am in Nature’s Valley. Nature’s Valley Trust will be supplying bags for people to collect any marine debris.
