MAKE YOUR 2020 EASTER WEEKEND ONE TO REMEMBER. . .
We are currently planning for the 2020 Hi-Tec Garden Route Walking Festival.
While we update our programme for 2020, please consider browsing the wide selection of over 52 FREE or PROFESSIONALLY GUIDED walks we had on the programme in 2019 to get an idea of the walks and trails we are likely to feature.
From easy walks that are family friendly to extreme mountain peaks for the more adventurous. Everyone is welcome.
ABOUT THE WALKING FESTIVAL
Welcome to the Garden Route where we love trails and love walking.
Hi-Tec is synonymous with walking and hiking in South Africa. Together we are proud to offer visitors and locals alike, SA’s only walking festival.
The Garden Route is home to our country’s most famous trails – the Otter Trail, the Tsitsikamma Trail and the Oystercatcher Trail to name a few.
Our dedicated team is working hard to ensure you enjoy a fun and inspiring festival in 2019. Read the FAQs below and contact us if you have any questions.
SUPPORT NATURE AND ENJOY GREAT WALKS
A majority of the walks are FREE to join, while the professionally guided walks have different rates per person. It is FREE to register for the festival.
Instead we encourage you to make a donation to one of the non-profit nature charities working on the Garden Route, who protect and conserve our beautiful region.
Join our special COASTAL CLEAN-UP WALKS and help us make a difference to our coastline. Great prizes to be won for those who attend.
“This was a well organised festival with a tremendous variety
of walks in some of the most beautiful scenery anywhere.
It is well worth travelling to the Garden Route for a few days
to experience its wonders.”
– Robert K Berry

Hi-Tec Beach Clean-up Walks
What it’s about
This year the festival is proud to again host 3 Coastal Clean-Up Walks.
Too much plastic and litter on our coast is not cool. This is a chance for walkers and lovers of the outdoors to give back and to help pick it up.
What you need
Bring a spirit of fun. A pair of gardening gloves or others to handle the more unpleasant trash.
A sandwich or two, sun hat, water and willing hands to help carry what we pick up along the way.
“Fabulous long weekend of exciting walks.
Had a blast. It was awesome!”
– Jacqui Campbell-Morris
